May 9, 2013 — The National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) has announced award applications for a Disability Rehabilitation Research Project (DRRP) and for Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers (RRTCs). Award applications are available for a DRRP for a Traumatic Brain Injury Model Systems Collaborative Research Project. The related final priority notes that the DRRP should contribute “rehabilitation interventions and clinical practice guidelines that improve the lives of individuals with traumatic brain injuries (TBI) through research,” including treating or assessing outcomes of TBIs. In addition, award applications are available for RRTCs in the areas of Employment of Individuals with Physical Disabilities, Health and Function of Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and Community Living and Participation for Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. Estimated available award funds range from $600,000 to $875,000 depending on the research priority. Applications for awards are available beginning May 9, 2013, and the final deadline for applications is July 8, 2013.
