North Georgia Digital Economy Conference

The Georgia Technology Authority will host the North Georgia Digital Economy Conference on December 12, 2013 at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center in Cumming, Georgia.  During this interactive conference, “technology pros, business innovators, online educators,” and students will have the opportunity to discuss “the ways people can collaborate to benefit from Internet-age economic development, education, health care, and community innovation.” The conference will also address digital education, workforce development, and the future of broadband in Georgia. FCC’s Clyburn Speaks to the Future of Accessibility

June 6, 2013 — The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Acting Chairwoman Mignon Clyburn addressed the M-Enabling Summit concerning trends in accessible technology.

Creation of the FCC Technology Transitions Policy Task Force

December 10, 2012 — Julius Genachowski, Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman, recently announced the creation of the Technology Transitions Policy Task Force that will work to answer the following policy question: “In a broadband world, how can we best ensure that our nation’s communications policies continue to drive a virtuous cycle of innovation and investment, promote competition, and protect consumers?” Areas that the Task Force will focus on include: IP interconnection, 21st century communications networks, business broadband competition, and voice services.

LIVE ON-LINE TOMORROW, FCC CONSUMER ADVISORY MEETING

September 18, 2012 –   The Federal Communications Commission (FFC) is having a Consumer Advisory Committee meeting on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 2:00pm-4:00pm EDT. Agenda items include, but are not limited to, recommendations on broadband access, text spamming, and an item on disability complaints processing presented by Gregory Hlibok Chief, and Susan Kimmel, Deputy Chief, Disability Rights Office. The meeting is open to the public and will be broadcast live over the Internet.
