Consumer Advisory Committee will Address Accessibility

The next meeting of the FCC Consumer Advisory Committee will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at 9:00 in Room TW-C305 at the FCC.  The Committee will discuss a variety of issues including consumer protection and education, implementation of Commission rules and consumer participation in the FCC rulemaking process, access by people with disabilities, and impact of new and emerging technologies.  A portion of the meeting will also be open to public comments and questions.  Questions can be submitted via email to livequestions@fcc.gov or via Twitter with the hash tag #fcclive. A live broadcast of the meeting will be available at www.fcc.gov/live/.

People with Disabilities and Telehealth Development

November 2, 2012 —At a meeting held on November 2, 2012 the Mobile Health (mHealth) Task Force of the Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) recommended that the FCC include and address the interests and accessibility needs of people with disabilities, low-income individuals and other under-served groups when evaluating and making recommendations regarding “affordable connectivity and compatibility for telehealth devices.”
