Dr. Helena Mitchell serves as Co-Director of the RERC and as Project Director for projects R2 and T2. Dr. Mitchell is Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Communications Policy in the School of Public Policy at Georgia Tech. She was the former Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar for Distance Learning, where she designed a collaborative virtual research center that spanned educational, community, and business environments to improve the learning of complex topics for special audiences. Dr. Mitchell’s distinguished career includes executive level positions with the Federal Communications Commission, Department of Commerce, Rutgers University, public television, and private industry. She currently serves as a member of the FCC's Consumer Advisory Committee and as an advisory board member to the WGBH Access Alerts project.
