STEM Diversity Career Expo

The Equal Opportunity Publications (EOP) STEM Diversity Career Expo will be held at the New Yorker Hotel in New York City on September 20, 2013.  The Expo is an opportunity for women, minorities, and people with disabilities to meet with companies and government agencies hiring within the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields. EOP urges all those interested in the Expo to register at http://www.eop.com/stemexpo and submit a resume, which will be sent to the recruiters present at the Expo.

New NIDRR Award Applications

May 7, 2013 — The National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) has announced final priorities and award applications for Disability Rehabilitation Research Projects (DRRPs) in the following areas:

Promoting Accessible Technologies in the Workplace

April 2013 — The Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) released the report ODEP Accomplishments 2009—2012, highlighting ODEP’s progress in ensuring that individuals with disabilities are considered and included when improving the job opportunities for American workers.

NIDRR Research Agenda: Health, Community Living & Employment

January 25, 2013—The Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services of the Department of Education released three proposed priorities [FR Doc No: 2013-01418] regarding the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) research agenda. The three priorities focus on community living and participation; health and function; and the employment of individuals with disabilities. The proposal requires that research conducted within one of these priorities must focus on at least one of the four stages of research.

Wireless RERC Comments on NIDRR Long Range Plan

06.18.2012 – The Wireless RERC submitted comments to the Department of Education in response to their notice “In the Matter of National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research; Notice of Proposed Long-Range Plan for Fiscal Years 2013 - 2017” [FR Doc. No. 2012-9365].
